CALL FOR ENTRIES: Mooresville Artist Guild 2nd Annual Blue Moon Ball & Art Action is open to all artists in the area to show and sell their art. No entry fee. 40% of any sales will be given to The Fund for the Preservation of the Historic Depot with 60% going to the artist. The artist is to set a minimum acceptable price for their work as well as a full retail price. For art to appear in the sales catalog, sent a digital image to Cheri Simmons at csimmons@usa.net no later than May 15. Artwork is to delivered to the Depot in Mooresville on May 23-25 between 1 PM and 4 PM For additional information, contact Sandie Bell at (704) 664-5694 or bellenterprises@roadrunner.com. CALL FOR PHOTOGRAPHY: Area photographers are invited to submit entries reflecting the theme “Images of Hometowns,” for a 2009 Photography Calendar sponsored by the Davidson Housing Coalition’s HAMMERS program. Entries must depict scenes of Cornelius, Davidson, Huntersville or Mooresville and represent the spirit of the town. Digital or hard-copy submissions due by May 30. CALL FOR BASEBALL ART: Cleveland County Arts Council is accepting submissions for a juried exhibit base on the theme of baseball to coincide with the 2008 American Legion World Series to be held in Shelby, August 13-26. CALL FOR ARTISTS & CRAFTERS: Hickory’s Oktoberfest 2008 is currently accepting applications for Arts and Crafts vendors. The 23rd annual festival will be held October 10, 11 and 12 in Downtown Hickory. Estimated attendance 100,000+. Show is juried event with prizes for top three booths. Booth spaces are 10 x 10 and limited to two craftspersons per booth. Early registration $100 (postmarked by August 1), late applications $150 (accepted until September 1). Electricity $25.00. CALL FOR ARTISTS & CRAFTERS: Artists are being sought to show fine arts and crafts at the Tenth Annual Art in the Shop in Taylorsville, NC on Saturday, October 4 from 10-5. The Shop, studio of metal artist Richard Shaw, encompasses a grassy six-acre area with plenty of parking. All artwork must be original in design. Applications available at www.artintheshop.net.
